Inspired by the long legacy of Bollywood’s vibrant spirit, our kitchen celebrates the drama, emotion, and energy of Indian food with a modern twist.

We’re not a dine-in restaurant — we’re your on-the-go flavor studio, delivering fresh, handcrafted meals that combine the best of Indian, Italian, and modern culinary creativity. My name is Debendra Sahoo — better known as Chef Dev — and my culinary journey began in Salipur, Cuttack, Odisha, India, the legendary birthplace of the Rasgulla. Growing up surrounded by vibrant flavors and rich traditions, my love for food took root early in life.

I received my formal training at IHM and began my professional career at the iconic Taj Hotel, Mumbai. In 2004, my global culinary adventure began, taking me to over 107 countries aboard luxury cruise lines — an experience that opened my palate to diverse cultures, flavors, and the art of celebration through food.

My pursuit of excellence led me to London, where I had the privilege of working alongside Chef Atul Kochhar, the first Indian chef to earn a Michelin star. During this time, I was honored with the Young Chef Award, an experience that deepened my passion for creativity and innovation in cuisine.

After two decades of exploration, I’ve come full circle — back to my roots, but with a global perspective. I’m proud to introduce Bollywood Box, my own culinary venture in Downtown Calgary, on 17th Avenue.

At Bollywood Box, I bring together the authentic home-style flavors of Odisha and the vibrant street food culture of India, reimagined for today’s modern food lovers. Whether it’s Bollywood-style parties, no-onion, no-garlic Maha Prasad, or customized catering for weddings, birthdays, and celebrations, every dish is crafted with heart, heritage, and a touch of cinematic flair.
